Some advice on my exhaust system please.
Current setup: 4-2-1 manifold (was already on the car when I got it) to broken CAT to Larini Cat back.
Firstly, I need to replace the cat. De-cat is obviously tempting but I fear this would make an already fairly intrusive exhaust note far too loud? So, where is the best place to buy a CAT? (I think I have a 440mm one) - Mx5parts ones seem to get awful reviews! Presumably with a new cat, my exhaust should be a little quieter too I assume?
Secondly, I know what a 4-2-1 mani does (good for low to midrange powerz) but what does it do as far as noise is concerned, are they known to be louder than the OE mani? It's been so long since I drove a standard 5 I cant remember!!
Thanks chaps.

Do they do the '200 cell racing cats' for the 5s?

There's always a silenced decat too if you've got an older model or earlier import.

I've got a Cat in my garden. It might be difficult to get off the exhaust that it is on, but it's free if you want it. It's from a V-Spec, no idea on the size.

... It's from a V-Spec, no idea on the size. All Eunos Roadsters have 370mm cats.

My setup is Mazdaspeed 421 to broken CAT and then Larini cat back. Quietest option would be best really. I have a early 95 so 'could' be cat less if I have a knowledgable mot man (unlikely)

I can cut it off. The exhaust is knackered, but I think I kept it for the CAT. It might not be any use, I'll have to see what state it's in. Been in the garden for about 2 years.

What manifold & back box, I think that makes a difference?
