I would definitely be up for Llandow next year, it looked great fun and would suit us folk with less track orientated 5's!
I would not want to commit to anything else as I have no idea what, if any, job I'll be doing next year.
The sprint idea sounds brilliant too.

Maybe an idea but what about running 2 days at llandow with one day being a trackday and the 2nd a sprint event very much like what nick does with the mot trackday/sprint at blyton. Have few basic classes few trophies for each class and overall etc be a good way to get people into competition motorsport but at a fun affordable level. Limit numbers for the sprint and you can run plenty of runs throughout the day much more than msa style sprints. Good idea. If you go for about 35 max on the sprint you'll easily get 8 runs in the day- 2 practice then onto timed runs. The people who aren't doing the sprint can go do the valley run? Well the javelin sprint does 1 practice lap and 6 timed runs and regular runs 80 cars. The Toyota sprint series does 2 untimed runs and 8 timed with roughly 40-50 entries to give an idea of runs per cars numbers. The sprint layout at llandow is 1 3/4 lap so start in pit lane one full lap then go again and finish on entry to pits. So you could run 1 car every 25s. So one car enters track gets to back Chicane another one goes out. First car finishes its runs 2nd car goes on to its 2 lap then 3rd goes out. That's roughly what javelin runs at the 100 layout at snetterton which runs 1 3/4 lap.

Great idea with sprint. Is it feasible though??

Great idea with sprint. Is it feasible though?? Cant see why not as long as you get enough entries. The only other expense is timing gear which nick at mot motorsport uses for the Mazda on track sprint at blyton.

It has to be something that everyone wants to be involved in though, some people might want to just do track time. Might be worth looking at separate tickets for each day and having a weekender ticket too

I can't see why anyone wouldn't want to do a sprint, it would be "official" timing for everyone and that's got to be better than all the personal lap timer stuff Unless you have something to hideππ!

In the proposed sprint.. what kind of classes would be run?? Obviously displacement first with fi multipliers and tyre classes. What else to make it as fair as possible?.

Don't over complicate it is best. Could go one class for non Mazda entries. One for forced induction one for n/a 1.6 one for n/a 1.8. E marked tyres only. Keep it simple keep it fun. Or just ask for specs of cars when booking in and arrange classes that way. Or what mlr do is run in morning few runs see what times everyone does then group people in order of times in morning. Another option is what mot does on its sprint no classes have one for fastest lap fastest 4 runs and most consistent. few ways of doing it tbh. The biggest motivation is beating your own times and trying to beat cars that should be much quicker.

Might be worth looking at separate tickets for each day and having a weekender ticket too For people doing both could run a slight discount to do both days then single entry for people either wanting to do trackday only or sprint etc. People who don't want the sprint could arrange a run out then meet back at track something like that.

I would just do 2 classes perhaps na and FI You can then sub class na into mk1/2 and mk3? Road legal tyres only Prizes for FTD and class wins?

Love the sprint idea in combination with a track day -sounds awesome. We'd be happy to help out with supply of timing brackets / markers (things that bolt on the front tie down..) if that was of any help π

I'm down for whatever - I just ask that if it can avoid the last weekend of July as every year I've got commitments I can't get out of Plsplspls.
