It’s time for a roll bar but before I spend out I thought I’d check what bar would actually suit me best. Is there any bar that can be fitted along side a standard cabin brace? It’s also got to work with a hard top. I don’t really want any cross braces but I don’t see that as a huge issue. GCF said they’d do one for me and TRL do one without anyway. Having said that, the Project M looks great I think. (As advised to me before on here, it’s got a great retro look to it) I think (?) a Carbing ticks the boxes I want but I don’t think I’ll find one in a hurry Can anyone from experience recommend a bar? Cheers

I've a Project M bar which bolts to the seat belt towers and the body just in front of the rear wheels, nice piece of kit although drilling the holes for the rear brace is a pta (90deg drill required) You wont need your cabin brace as it's far more substantial than the one that came with my car.
As for hard top clearance you'll need to talk to Russel, I believe he sells a version to fit under hardtops (I cut a section out of the inner of mine to allow the top to sit correctly)
If you do go with the Project M bar get yourself some epoxy and glue the spreader plates on the seat belt towers in place, makes installation far easier

Carbing I would avoid due to the reduction in seat travel. This is because it bolts to the floor behind the seats. I really regret installing mine for this reason and I'm really jealous of Bambi's TR Lane one. It has made fitting aftermarket seats a real pain
Vindi has said before that due to the way he makes his bars, the angle the rear legs will sit to let it fit under a hardtop reduces its effectiveness. They are still a fantastic product though
You can't go wrong with TR Lane, GCF or Vindi. We are really spoiled for choice when it comes to roll bars. Just make sure you get a full fitting kit and install the spreader plates on whichever bar you get

Brilliant post thank you Corders. Just what I needed. I do need the seat right back so as much as I love the look of the Carbing bar it'll be a no-no for me.
Perhaps I'll look for a group buy on a GCF. The TRL without cross brace is prett reasonable too.
Thanks again everyone!

Are all of the above motorsport compliant? I am also in the market for a roll bar to give me a warm feeling on trackdays and msa hill climbs.....!
