I've seen an 1.6 engine advertised which is apparently from a factory Mazdaspeed car, so features the Mazdaspeed/323gtx pistons and cams.
Is there any real world benifit to me getting this? My car is a turbo, would I see any gains for this engine over a standard 1.6?

Probably if you were NA, but I doubt it since you’re turbocharged

Depends exactly which engine it was, Mazdaspeed did several versions ... some for FI which could be good, and some for NA which could be bad due to the higher compression

to fill in a bit on Vindi's comment..
if it's a b-spec or heavenly wtf c-spec it'd be worth having... if it's a 323gtx familia gtr jobby, the rods are the thing to get ahold of, they're good for more boost/abuse.

323gtx were turbocharged and had a B6T engine. these had lower compression ratio than the N/A engine (larger dish in pistons) and stronger conrods... also, iIrc, the exhaust camshaft had less duration so more suitable for turbo (quicker spooling?) Rich.

Looking more at this engine for sale I don't think its the b6t, so I'll leave it as is. Don't want to spend extra money to be where I am or worse.
Cheers all
