I've been helping a friend with court stuff against his manipulative nutter ex (wife), who has pretty much been administering prescription drugs to their child excessively and for no reason, so that's been taking up quite a bit of time. Got to prepare for round two soon as well, which is going to be a PITA but we have no choice.
If it ever stops raining, I will get out there and play with it - it is virtually ready to fire up, so if I can get it started, I'll get the MOT booked. (Annoying that I can't drive it to test run it, other than the short trip to the garage.)

Quick and dumb question...
... drop perhaps a tea/tablespoon of oil into each cylinder, in an attempt to reduce any bore damage from dry pistons while the oil pressure gets up?
Or will that just create a cloud of smoke for little benefit?

Or will that just create a cloud of smoke for little benefit? depends, if the oil sits in the middle of the piston then it'll do nothing for the bores & rings bite the bullet, start the engine & enjoy Rich.

Will give starting it a go...

Coolant refilled and mostly spilt down the front of the car and on the floor Last of the connections checked and reconnected. Tomorrow, if it doesn't slash it down all day, I'll jack it up and drain the oil and refill. PITA not being able to get a trolley jack underneath it and having to use the OEM scissor jack - will definitely be using axle stands so I don't cut myself in half while under it. Have got one of the magnetic sump plugs and silicon(e)? washers to use. Hopefully it won't leak.
