With the Mighty5s track day looming large my mk1 1.8 has developed a fault, this has only happened 3 times in the last month but just wondered if it's something obvs I could look at next weekend. just occasionally I get a slight hesitation when I put my foot back down after throttling off, like a fuel starvation or perhaps electrical, never more than a second or two then it picks back up. fuel filter changed last year, serviced this spring, new coil pack 2 years ago, new plugs about 2000 miles ago? fuel pump?, injectors? (The injectors could be worn, it does overfuel a bit - pops and bangs!) any ideas greatly appreciated- otherwise I'll just head to Llandow and hope it doesn't get any worse!!

Is it sort of choking then spluttering back into life?
If it's overfuelling, perhaps when you throttle off it's still got a load of fuel pumping into the cylinders, then when you pick up the throttle again it's putting even more fuel in and drowning it until the mechanical action of the engine drags it out into the exhaust and leaves the fuelling correct for the engine speed/throttle position?
(Guessing!)
If you have a 'live view' AFM then that could give an indication, maybe??
