Just had the M45 rebuilt for a 2nd time. The first was by supposed specialists who used plastic bearing seals, hylomar & gearbox oil. That rebuild lasted 50 miles & Canoeed the rotor pack. This time it has been completely rebuilt with new metal bearing seals, correct oil by Powerhouse in Chesterfield. Looks great.

Good to know, I'd wondered if there was anyone in the UK that could rebuild chargers

I have had an MP 62 to bits and replaced all the bearings and seals, The only tricky bit is removing the needle rollers from the back of the housing and Re Timing the Rotors. I used grease specified for gas turbines ( High Speed, High Temp ) I used the correct spec gearbox oil. If you can pull an engine apart and rebuild it it should be within your ability.
My car ran fine without the charger I just put a bypass pipe where the charger was as a bodge and had it re tuned. It still had 130 Bhp without the charger. ( About 220 Bhp with it )
I had the longest NA induction in the world the pipe ran from the front of the car to where the back of the charger was then through an over the top intercooler and back to the throttle body. I ran the car like that for a couple of months till I mended the MP62, including doing a Hillclimb that I had entered.

Fair enough but I had a bad experience with a supposed specialist & needed a reliable fix that would match time constrains. Powerhouse delivered a good service that impressed me. As I compete in a power to weight championships, running N/A would’ve meant that I would’ve had to go onto the rollers after being re mapped to determine the power, then after the blower was refitted another mapping session etc. I salute your ability to DIY though.
