You can't post that and not post pics lol OK It's the blue and yellow one in the front. Also, it is on the Lancia Stratos Wikipedia page, right at the bottom: Lancia Stratos on Wikipedia

Back on track- Brake fluid changed, oil + filter change & changed the spark plugs.... Turns out Number 1 was barely in & was very loose. Think I did well last year on 31/2 cylinders

Just changed the plugs. Definitely looks to be running a bit rich, but I understand that's normal for a Mk3.

OK so today's job was to service the gear selector. Both boots were in a shocking state and there was hardly any oil in the turret. The plastic ring was in good condition but replaced that too anyway. Added new oil, two new boots, new leather gaiter and a new gear knob. Couldn't get a better original one so went for a hard plastic black version with red numbers. Looks and feels good

Stuffed a roll-up ciggie filter in a vac line. By-pass valve now nicely modulated which means smooth power delivery rather than all or nothing - not good and resulted in a humungous tank-slapper coming out of Quarry at Combe yesterday - thanks, Nick.

Looks and feels good I need to do this - mine is super-notchy into second and third until warm so I'm hoping it will improve. Stuffed a roll-up ciggie filter in a vac line. Clever! Here, this weekend I have to put the engine back together and then take it apart again to check piston/valve (lack of...) clearance and then, if it's not going to batter itself into tiny bits (crosses fingers) put it back together properly and pray it runs... Suncream is on, parts are in a pile, it is now the hottest part of the day... let's do it! lol

Today I am celebrating my MX-5's 16th birthday - mostly by eating ice-cream and deciding that it's too hot to go anywhere
