It's now that time of the year when many people retire their MX5s from daily service and crack on with the jobs they've been putting off all summer because they've been too busy driving it.
What's on your list and why?

Need to find more pace for next season
Not sure how to do it, or whether I want to spend but on the list are
100kg drop (the package of Car + Driver ) Convert to 6spd Cams perhaps. Fit chassis bracing and ARBs. Wider tyres/alloys 245/255, basically whatever I can squeeze in with minimal rubbing without putting myself in mod prod. Aero work, hard top, flat bottom, basically whatever I can get within the Regs. Stickier rubber.
Or just say feck it and buy a better motor with the dough I'd waste doing all of that.

Fix diff. A bit of engine bay tidying. And if I find a few quid down the sofa some back to back testing of the Salon Motorsport supercharger kit vs my TR Lane setup. Oh and door cards and speakers. Sound powaaaas.

The usual for the mk1s Avoid driving them or letting any salt near them... But before it's salty .. blue needs a return trip to the body shop to finish off some things and white needs its new diff fitted.

Nothing too major: - ARB droplinks and bushes. New coilovers went on earlier this year, seems logical to get rid of rusty droplinks and crumbly bushes. I'm thinking probably standard or uprated rubber rather than PU to keep some compliance and reduce NVH. Anyone any recomendations?
- Alloy lacquer peel. The lips on my BBS rims are looking rough. I'll probably just take the lacquer off, clean them up and seal rather than re-lacquering.
- Brake lines. Flex lines & fixed, as both are well past their best. Some nice fluid, regrease the sliders, check seals etc. General brake overhaul.
- Bucket seat, harness and smaller dia steering wheel. Because racecar. (Also, trackdays on the standard items are becoming an exercise in holding on.)

Trouble is this will all be done by xmas so not sure what I will do when the real bad weather starts I might spend some time doing something cheap to the exterior, more sill and arch repair and a silly paint job to cover up my shoddy workmanship!!!

My plans are pretty much the opposite to everyone else, as usual my timing is miles off so I've been working on cars through the summer and am just about to put them on the road

I'll use mine one every two weeks. I'll jet wash the underside after each trip. Then it'll sit there on the driveway.
Jobs to do include: rebuilding doors to fit new polished handles, grease window wonders, sound deaden panels. Rebuild dash with padding to stop the rattles. Fitting door bars and roll bar. Planning stereo instal. Plus a hundred other things when funds allow.
