List seems endless but it's still a daily;
Finish cavity and under seal using Dinitrol Fit the Meisters I've just ordered Minor service but also replace weeping crank seal so will also replace timing belt, water pump etc Replace hood rear screen tension straps Maybe I'll look at stainless brake lines And if I have been very good I may fit a subwoofer behind seats
I'm worn out just thinking all that through!

Drive it to work everyday. Then scrap it when it fails it's mot on rust. Or get one sill welded and have another trouble free year of banger motoring.

My plans:
Superpro bush kit Meisters (undecided to go crd or crd+) Wishbone refurb/paint
Maybe drop links too...
Then try to book some autosolos for the spring! (Basingstoke MC)
That about adds up to what I paid for the car, and still no boost!

CRD+ I cannot compliment them enough! they're awesome bit of kit, and for the extra Β£50 its a no brainer in my eyes!

The thing which put me off the far eastern dampers is the lack of support for rebuilding them. So if you get an issue it looks like you have to buy a whole new set, which is rather wasteful. The British companies will rebuild them if required.

Two new wings for the ones which have rotted away at the bottom, mucho welding of the crunchy front jacking points and redo the previous repairs to rear arch which is bubbling again and one A-pillar ditto, replace the split dash, complete respray as the paint is utterly shagged on most of the car, then replace the (second) oil drinking engine.
Or acknowledge that it's had a good run, driven further than the distance to the moon and through 20 salty winters, give up, buy a sound Mk.1 and swap the good bits over (MP62, MS, Meisters).
If I knew anything about welding it might tip the balance toward saving it. As it is, I've been dithering for a few SORN months.

I've just finished doing my rear inner sill, I bought a welder last year and have just been having a go, a grinder, some isopon p40 and plenty of paint hides my lack of expertise but it's probably stronger than when it was new A gasless welder is a worthwhile investment imoππΌπ

Try not to drive it so much on the evenings I know the gritter will be out.
Over summer I rubbed back and treated all wishbones, pinch weld and chassis rail sections, just ordered everything I need for the rest of the underside, so hopefully secure some ramp time to get it all on.
Die a little inside every time I look at it. I must have THE worst case of lacquer peel in history. Abismal.
Rob.

Stripping out the interior for a refurb and having the removable pads on the Recaros recovered. Also fitting proper working temp and oil gauges, going to remove the tatty old radio and fit them in its place - no need for the radio as I'm pretty deaf - not really sure what to do with the existing oil and temp gauges though yet.
Other than that it just fix a few issues that sprung up during the summer use, I've taxed and insured the bike this winter for the first time in few years so I'll be using that a bit I think.
