I have an Audi A3 Quattro which is an old but great car but along with my wife's fiesta my 5 & 2 large boys growing daily we are finding the need for a bigger car I want an auto estate - mondeo, Volvo ,merc, Audi, Passat Beemer etc Quite like the idea of a Volvo - I have good experience with the old T5 - focus ST days. Or mongo st220 might be cheap fun But now I have decided I'm looking all the time even though I've just MOT'd the A3!!! My wife is worried!!

I remember Claire's car. Another 2.0 in nice blue that had been sprayed again with 2009 facelift parts added, including the engine to take the remap reliably. Fancy wheels and reupholstered seats with blue panels to match the body. Treated and sealed. Dropped and aligned. All that. £4000 because it wasn't original. We get some strange ideas about what an mx-5 is sometimes. The actual people that buy them (new) often get a 125bhp 1.8 with no lsd and think it's perfect. Non of them bought it because it's a fast car. Even a sport is slower than a hot hatch.
I'm not saying there is no market, but adding mods rarely adds value as it reduces interest. People like them for what they are, or get something else. Modding is a niche that makes ownership more difficult. So tends to have appeal to many that can't afford what they really would rather have. So they try and make it on the cheap. Rather than buying well sorted cars. Fancy looking paint seats and wheels isn't track modded either. It's very easy to push out every buyer except yourself. Though isn't that why you did it? because what you wanted isn't represented in any car the auto giants offer.
If BBR value the car fairly then give 50% of the mods cost back, they will be by far the best payer.
