...tonight at 4.15pm. A woman in a Tailgate McNoIndicate rep mobile decided it was a god idea to dart into my lane as fast as possible without even looking or indicating. I slammed on the brakes and moved over as far as I could, which must have really helped, but they still crunched into my wing. It looks ok on the whole but it is dented and there is paint missing.
I got out fuming and asked what the hell they thought they were doing?! The lady apologised loads and said I missed my turning so changed lanes even though I couldn't see anything. Great! Thanks so much! Canoeing typical Muppet Tailgate McNoIndicate Canoe.
I took photos of the scene, her driving licence, her email and phone number etc. I just got back home and sent her an email saying thanks for stopping and apologising, lets get this sorted out.
For Canoe sake.

She admitted fault loads but only verbally. I sent an email summarising the events and thanked her for apologising. I just need a reply from her, then I guess I will have it in writing.

Canoe Spheres. Any witnesses? Always good to have witnesses in case she suddenly decides it was your fault ...

The damage is very subtle. It may even t-cut out and be able to be popped out. If not, it will be done properly!
It is more a case of me being shocked at the stupidity! Plus I love my little car and anyone causing it even a bit of harm hurts. Sad I know!
Anyway the woman replied and said she will cooperate fully to get it fixed quickly. Either direct or through insurance. So that is something. Also I now have her sort of agreeing with my version of events in writing, or at least not denying it. So that is something too.
Oh well. Be safe people. Expect the most insane things out there!

The problem with drivers admitting fault is that their insurance company may disagree. You cannot admit nor accept liability on behalf of your insurance company. you should never admit anything or say anything more than are you ok and here is my insurance details. If the damage on your car is in front of the driver and the damage on hers behind the driver it may go as a 50/50 (or worse). I would avoid any further contact with her and speak to your insurance company as soon as possible. She may get home, her partner may not be happy and her story might start to change a bit. It happens a lot. and if it's a repmobile might be a leased company car, a whole other level of prarrie canoe! was their much damage to the beemer

No obvious damage to the Tailgate McNoIndicate. Her drivers side rear wing hit my front passenger side wing as she darted from the left lane into my right hand lane. Both of our lanes were only allowed to go straight on at that point as it was exiting a roundabout onto the m25. Even in my lane it was not allowed to go right! She could have caused a massive crash had I not stamped on my brakes and moved as I did.

Good on her behalf to make it so pain free hopefully! nothing worse than someone that doesn't own up to a mistake and drags the whole thing out!
