What's the story with Nutz's? I ask because there seems to be very heavy handed approach and a generally disrespectful attitude from the Moderators towards members in general. Is it my imagination or is this standard practice? I've got to admit I don't particularly care what their Mods do but I find it somewhat baffling and amusing too. Has the their forum been losing members as of late?

I'm technically still a moderator on there, was for over seven years, though haven't been active in ages.
The decline started after the ownership changed. Now there seems to be zero direction and it's just being left to rot.
Certain mods are still clinging on but I really don't know why.
Any 'attitude' you detect from them is likely due to their sadness in seeing a once thriving forum in it's current state being milked dry by adverts and corporate types with zero input or development in return.

Well the comments above go same way to explaining the carry on on Nutz. I think I'll be sticking with Mighty5's in the future.

I think it stems from the mods being fed up with all the rubbish that nick cann et al come out with and then on top of that having new members not noticing rules that are fairly clearly displayed at the top of the forum. Add to that their grumpy old man way of handling it all and you have what is going on. Total lack of support from the owners isnt helping either
As for here...its not big enough yet for people to have had massive arguments plus there are more threads geared towards the cars than off topic stuff so there is plenty for enthusiasts to talk about. Most of us know each other already so it is pretty friendly thanks to knowing people in person
Forums in general are in decline thanks to the immediacy of facebook but if the interest is kept up, people will still want to come on here

What Corduroys said. Please remember Miles is not to blame for all this. He is really a decent chap, as is daddysonotcool.

I've seen Miles being rude and abusing his moderating privileges just because he doesn't seem to agree with people. Nothing to do with not reading rules! Just comes across like an absolute bum hole to be honest.

Forums in general are in decline thanks to the immediacy of facebook but if the interest is kept up, people will still want to come on here Forums will always have their place for real enthusiasts over social networks, Facebook and the like doesn't retain information in the way forums will, so info like how to guides or other peoples solutions to problems will always be searchable rather than having to ask again.
Because of this, (I find) forums a nicer place to be, the repetition of the same questions and faults on social networks annoy the regulars and it becomes what nuts has become from their lack of moderation.
With a quality team a forum will always be a nicer place to be.

Agree with lots of whats been said but please no bashing of mods on other forums. It's a thankless task.

Mod or not he has no right to talk to people the way he does. Thankless task maybe, but not one he has to do.

That's as maybe but I don't want a turf war between forums. I know drive-bys are easy in an MX5, but still.........
