Put a big tag on it. No matter how organized you are, a year down the line you'll forget that theres a problem.
You got very very close though, impressive.

I am going to try to will out how to trailer it to Switzerland and fix it in garage I think. Put panels on loosely so they don't get kicked about. It's going to look good when it is eventually finished...

My current plan is to get it to Switzerland to finish it, but not drive it there.
No idea of i will manage it.
Can be a thread cliff hanger... Stay tuned to find out what happens!

Well, everything packed up and we are on the way. Had to leave this all alone in the garage...

Ah no... So close!
Still, at least you've got the option to keep it secure there, or get it out to Switzerland (somehow...) to finish it.
Hope the move goes well!
Your old shell is progressing, albeit slowly, by the way. I'll get round to making a build thread on here at some point...

Well, have been in Switzerland for a few weeks now and all is well except I don't have my favourite car/money pit with me. Fortunately everything else is a money pit in this place - the prices are crazy for absolutely everything.
I am hatching plans to bring it over, but we need to wait for a bit before worrying about that.
In the mean time my wife's temporary company car has been making me truly miserable. A 316 touring. Pretty sure it is the 3 cylinder engine.
It is painfully slow, and has no toys inside. The only useful thing it has got is a thing that reads speed limit signs. They chop and change every few bloody meters. Been flashed once, and to be honest that is pretty good going.
We have two new cars lined up though. My wife's new company car will be an A4 Avant. I tried desperately to get another S4, but they are stupidly expensive on her scheme because of the engine. So we have a 3.0 diesel with every toy you can imagine chucked at it.
And I have a 2013 M135i coming next week. Relatively plain - no msport exhaust or anything like that. But that should make it quite stealthy.
So, more to come... But not yet.

Now, you need to make an all out hill climb car out of it. just saying. Ha! My goal right now is to just get it running. And not get done at customs fire bringing into the country. I have been told that as long as I promise to take it back out when done, there will be no problems. But the Swiss do like their rules and regulations...

with a lack of mx5 news, i picked up my m135 (auto and xdrive) Promptly gave it back for it to have 7300 CHF (~£5700) transfer box replaced, and now it is running like a dream. Not sure how anybody driving it didn't notice it was utterly canoeed... but ho hum. However it is completely wasted in a country where it is impossible to speed. it is fun for about 4 seconds every day if i go to a back road and boot it. Goes well, makes lots of nice noise. Then i put it into eco pro mode and bumble around - to be fair it is pretty good at that as well. It just changes up every time to hit 1500rpm, and the engine is capable to pootling aroudn like that all day. So fun, but swiss roads are less than ideal for fast driving.

DOnt know about auto and xdrive, but a 135 seems to be fun. Replace all tires with 135's in order to get a sense of driving fast?

Auto is surprisingly good. Will cruise around and usually be in correct gear. Going to manual is a bit lumpy unless you are really on it, and then the shifts are very good.
Anyway. Mx5. My wife is refusing to let me bring it over before Christmas.
I have more work to do...

Hope all is well in the land of chocolate and cuckoo clicks fella?
I'm pretty sure you will still have your car back on the road before Ronin is running again! Lol
Attention has been diverted to planning a new, better equipped and bigger garage atm.

Yep, all working well. The car has been replaced with a sewing machine of all things. Have started to make loads of stuff for my wife and daughter, and new things for the house where they are a bit shabby... I definitely chose the wrong career. I should have done something more creative.
My plan is to get it over here after the winter. But I think it may be complicated. Have been told i have to leave 15% of the cars value with customs, then i get that back when i leaves the country, but i am liable to tax in the UK on the difference in value after i have done the work.
They like their Canoeing rules over here.
Garage sounds good. You need somewhere to put the fleet... how is the 968 going?
