Also, whereabouts? If in SF or NY, get a tesla, elsewhere a corvette, because USA.

Only just saw this. New Jersey, about an hour West of new York. I just can't bring myself to buy a Tesla. Musk is a bellend. And (obviously not including anybody here who might own one) so are Tesla drivers in my experience... Plus, build quality. And spying cameras. Panamera for family car is top of the list at the moment (my list anyway, budget controller may disagree). Maybe a comedy vette for my car? Just looked at them - Bloody hell. That's a lot of money for such a piece of prarrie canoe...

That's more than I would have thought. I had one when I was in LA in'87 - it was gloriously crap. Looked the part from a distance, but close up it looked like it was built in a shed by hillbillies. Which it was, come to think of it.

That's more than I was expecting, quick search and this is slightly cheaper but then I would need to find a cars and coffee to power slide into a crowd outside. I don't have time for that...

😁
Well, I considering your options, your budget will seat you in something nice.
And since a delica with risers, bars and coopers seems to be off the table, the panamera will be fine 😏

Yeah, I think this is definitely an example of first world problems.
Planning to buy a house there too.
And none of our electronics will work.
And I will obviously need to fit out a garage... Angling for at least a two car garage. Hopefully with a lift. And new welding equipment etc.

Aiming for Mendham/Morristown/Parsippany areas - so a bit further out in the sticks... We have been renting here for 3 years, and is annoying. We had started to look for houses here, but it is stupidly expensive. We could get a literal mansion out there for what a small house here would cost. Really looking forward to it. Will be a very different experience to Switzerland... but should be fun.

Found it ridiculously well organized which can be good or bad depending on circumstances. I used to like the community stills- my ‘father in law’ made shnapps that was pretty volatile. I suppose it’s a good time to sell your camper though. The US is the complete opposite in many respects. Haven’t been there since Biden got in but it was getting pretty crazy under the previous incumbent. Your $ gets a lot of house in the areas you’re looking. One thing I’ve always thought was weird is the lack of garden fences on a certain era of housing builds.

One thing I’ve always thought was weird is the lack of garden fences on a certain era of housing builds. 'well orgnaised' is the dictionary definition for Switzerland. And over here in the German bit, we think the French bit is a compelte free-for-all! I think the buggest schock will be going back to not implicitly trusting everybody. And having to go back to paying for stuff before you take it away or get the work done. Everythign is done by invoice after the fact here. Nuts. But quite nice in a 1950s way as well ... Just put the camper up on Autoscout which is a bit nervewracking. Means I have to take calls in German... I am OK, but the phone makes me nervous. If anybody wants a camper in Switzerland let me know... Or if you want to import one to the UK... I can assure you, we woudln't be going there if that Orange twat was still in the whitehouse. I am a little worried about any interactions with his supporters though. As a guest in the country I will have to tone down my real thoughts... Fences - Canoeing hell yes. And we have a dog who is a massive twat, so it's going to cost us an arm and a leg in fencing. Or maybe not - we are used to Swiss prices!

Hope it did the job. well, it hasn't made it any worse... 2-4 weeks to notice a difference. Couldn't have come at a worse time really. US embassy cancelled our visa appointment, so we had to run around like mental cases to get a new one. and that is 2 weeks before the old one. So now we need to do everything two weeks earlier than planned... any hoo.
