Excellent colour choice š Thanks. Nardo grey. I think it is an Audi colour, but have seen quite a few Tailgate McNoIndicate'S as well. I have seen one other MK1 in that colour (adamvass on nutz, not sure if he is on here)

Right, made some more progress today... Started to break the existing car down ready to make way for the shell and putting everything back on that. Got a pile of parts, and not sure where to put it all... And 25 years of schmoo on and under the foot rest thing:

Slowly getting more of the car stripped. Currently removing the loom Engine bay looks a lot tidier... But a bit slower too. I have been looking at forged pistons and rods, but not entirely sure how to go about it all really. Done lots of reading, so will have to take the plunge soon.

Engine year down has started... Had day off to get going on it today. I knew I had oil leaks coming out of every orrifice, but it was dirtier than I thought. Planning on forged stuff, but still learning what I can (and have to) do. Lots of reading. Unfortunately there is a lot of bull prarrie canoe out there to...

Got the head back. Just waiting for block to be measured which will tell me what I will be using to rebuild. Should be picking shell up early next week too.

Tidied up the loom under the car Did the loom inside to the back of the car as well. This is what else needs sorting Removed speaker and seatbelt loom while I was doing that: Then I made some new spreader plates, with captive nuts: And it is in: I really think I need a proper cage (this feels very flimsy when fitting it), but I need to get this finished as soon as possible. That can be a later investment.

Just read all of your thread, love the build and progress. Hope one day to be doing the same to my Rs-Ltd (on the spit sorting the bodywork not re shelling)
There is an exhaust in one of your pictures further up the page. Do you know what it is?

Ah, not seen your thread before. Just had a quick look, but will read later - looks good. supposed to be working... No idea what it is, bought it from somebody on nutz. just an ebay special i think. It sounded fine, not too loud. Going to the big scrappy in the sky soon as i plan to make my own. No idea if that will actually happen though. Part of my plan is to do something like yours actually. What is that? Did you do it yourself (If it is in the thread, i will find out later...)

I will read it properly later... That centre exit was a hks system with the rear silencer removed basically, brought it into the middle. Then just made up some bracket to hold it. Sounded really good on full chat but so droney on the motorway. I've got something now that looks very similar to that picture, only ones I can find that are similar are apexi and tsudo. But someone else has a tsudo and says the welds aren't as good as on my one, but mine doesn't say apexi on it anywhere so not 100% sure what it is.
