Who's got road trips or anything else interesting planned for this year then? We usually try to get at least one good trip in to somewhere interesting during the year, mostly in the car now because I'm getting a bit old and creaky for long motorbike tours these days. We've done most of Europe over the years, and in 2016 did one in Canada by hire car - my second one, the first was back in 2010 when my lad and me hired two motorbikes in Vancouver and rode out to the Icefields Parkway in the Alberta Rockies. Trip of a lifetime that was. For 2017 we'd planned to go to Italy and take the ferry over the Adriatic to Montengro then do a slow drive back via Croatia, Slovenia & Austria. However, we've put that one on the back burner for now because we're not sure what the £ is going to do once the Brexit thing gets set in motion. We'd have to start organising it now but by the time Aug / Sept comes around it could end up costing 3 x times as much so we're leaving that one 'til next year and we'll see what happens. So for this year we've decided to stay in the UK and do something I've wanted to do for ages - i.e drive the Outer Hebrides from Lewis down to Barra. It's all booked up apart from the the CalMac ferries which I can't book 'til their new timetable comes out in March. We're starting off with a little circuit of Scotland which will go: Loch Lomond - Grantown on Spey - Ullapool, from there we'll do Applecross in reverse (I've only ever done it from south to north before) and and then head for Portree on Skye for a couple of nights. Then we'll get the ferry (about 2.5 hours) from Uig to Tarbert on Lewis / Harris and we'll drive up to Stornoway where I've booked us a house for 3 days. After that we'll spend a day heading south to Barra where we'll spend another 3 days before heading to Oban on the 5 hour crossing back to the mainland. As I say, something I've wanted to do for ages but we did a cruise to Norway in 2015 and the ship went up through the Hebrides and that's when I thought I'd do something about it. Should be a good trip - but I'll be taking me mac and me wellies

Sounds like an amazing trip - the UK has so much to offer if you don't mind making a bit of effort. I've never been that far north but I've only heard good things. Myself I'm off to Cape Town for some winter sun this evening. We're there for a while so although there are no plans for anything exciting car wise just yet, I'm tempted to buy a bakkie My only driving holiday this year will be 5Fest

Nightmare of place to drive around Barcelona, mate of mine lives 20 odd miles up the coast from there. Good call on the Moto GP though, did San Marino a few years back - 2010 I think it was, the year Tomizawa was killed, it was an incredible weekend apart from that. We got to Silverstone in 2015 for the free practice sessions, purely for taking photos - it's much better for that when there's not so many crowds around You May recognise this fella

planning on getting down to Albania this year in the 5. Was to do it last year but i had "issues " the day before departure at Anglesey so we had to jump into the XKR and ended up in Rovinj, Croatia...a worthy destination. Two week trip this year, thru France, Belgium, Das Faterland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.....prarrie canoe, thats loads....We will as usual just book a ferry from Dover and find places as we go. its a great way to travel if you have no particular place to be. Annual 'Ring trip will probably be on the agenda as well and i would like to take in Zolder at some stage of the year.
Pleasant trips to all those going and look forward to seeing the write ups partically the Scandi tour as our "Team Sweden Hoonage group are planning a homage there in the future,
Darren

Enjoy Scotland Dewi - it has so much to offer and the roads are fantastic. Only place I've driven that matches it was the Swiss Alps.
Me? Well I'm hoping to visit my brother who lives in Hanoi at some point. Starting to organise the annual holiday with friends - this year we're thinking Montenegro. I'm sure I'll get away with Lady Nibnob at some point as well but currently undecided where we'll head this year.
2016 was a good year travel wise which included France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and New York. Here's hoping 2017 can live up to it!

This year I would REALLY like to go to Turkey (Istanbul), and Egypt for an ancient history exploration extraordinaire. Especially before they get blown to smithereens by Americans / Russians / TERRISTS.
Either that, or I might also do another trip to Spain and follow the route the Arabs took when they conquered Spain in the 8th Century. Starting off in Gibraltar, and working my way through Spain either in Chronological order of conquest, or just the most economic route to, and through most of the cities. I could make it a sick roadtrip and do like a history lesson / car review YouTube show thing ahaha.

The only thing i would want to do is fly/drive a Muscle car across the USA, culminating in a visit to Gas Monkey in texas, where I have beer with Richard & Aaron and they build me a mahoosive camaro or mustang hot rod for me to import back to the UK
Then I'll wake up and have a wet weekend in south wales with the family!!!
