Interesting review of the RF MX5. Apparently the turrets cause some unpleasant wind noise at motorway speeds. Mazda MX-5 RF 2.0 ReviewIt will be interesting to see if this is just one opinion or if this experience is shared by others

Mazda has often had problems with wind noise I knoe the 6 and cx5 were tweaked very early on to sort.

It wouldn't bother me, I'm not a convertible fan, I'd be happy to drive it without roof down, I wished they had just done a Coupe.

Yeah it is true that it's difficult to see who they were targeting with the RF. The profile is beautiful (prettier than the convertible with the roof up I think) but as you say oli, why didn't they just do it as a coupe? Less weight, less cost, caters to the people who like the driving experience but don't want a convertible. Having said that, if I get one of these in the future I think I would get the RF. Reminds me of the targa-tops of the 80s and 90s.

I love the folding hardtop versions ... I dont like feeling like I'm in a tent when it rains and I really like having the ability to drop the roof when its not raining. Best of both worlds as far as I am concerned Depends what the wind noise in question sounds like as to whether it would annoy, bet someone gets it solved.

The RC made up 80% of sales after it was released, Mazda think the RF will make up 50%. When I last spoke to dealer they said after the announcement and pics of the RF sales of the soft top had virtually stopped and everyone was putting deposits down on the RF.

I think the hard-top convertible NC is awesome. Definitely not sold on this targa-like thing. Maybe it needs the porky colourscheme..
