Long and short I tried to install a radio in Frankie. The wiring in there from previous looked like a snakes wedding, so using the wiring guide on here and a multimeter I identified the switch live and ground, but there is no permanent live feed in there. Had a good dig around and there is no lost cables, there is genuinely just no permanent live. It sorta spiralled out of control with rooting out random spurious wires that didn't need to be there, and reverted the rear light fog light mod to a reverse light, I will be putting in a fog light at a later date elsewhere. Anyway, to get back to to point I now need to source a permanent live. Thought about taking one off the hazard switch. As it turns out this doesn't work, you just end up with the hazards stuck on whenever the radio comes on, which whilst hilarious isn't ideal. Anyway, I was hoping to take a permanent live from the fuse box under the dash, however my Japanese isn't all that great (non existent) so when I saw this I was pretty much lost:
So far I have established that the 15A fuse on the left end of the middle row is for the cigarette lighter (amazingly this works) and is a switched live. I have also established that of the five on the bottom row, 4 are permanent lives. The far right is not, I have no idea what that does. I was thinking I would use one of these, but obviously don't want to start cutting and soldering until I know what stuff is.
Can anyone shed any light and translate my fuse cover, or give me any help at all with this? Extensive googling hasn't thrown up much by any way of a help, the only one that looks the same appears to be from an American spec jobbie and doesn't list half the fuses in the places that they are set in mine. If anyone can suggest somewhere to take a permanent live I am all ears. I had considered running a cable direct from the battery with an inline fuse, but I would rather an OEM+ install as far as is possible without running too many additional cables.
Cheers all.
