Just to be clear - this isn't my seat, it's nothing to do with me, caveat emptor, etc etc etc.
Anyway...
I first spotted this seat when Vindi mentioned it in his build thread:
mighty5s.com/thread/16/vindi-roadsters?page=2
I subsequently contacted Garath (yes, two a's) at the MX5 Restorer and confirmed that he was still in possession of the seat.
He is looking to sell it on, hence I paid them a visit to check it out.
I can't get pics off my phone but it is in good nick. From my brief inspection of it, most of which was spent sitting in it to see if it fitted me I can say that the leather is in VGC but needs a bit of a scrub, the back is basically scratch-free, and the cushioning is all as it should be. I forgot to check but Garath said it is on rails so should be a straight swap from a standard seat.
I'm about a 33" waist, so not skinny but not chunky. It was nicely snug around the hips but easy to get in and out of. The back support was nicely firm but not uncomfortable or hard. The open shoulders meant it was easy to get a full range of movement of your arms, without being forced into that hunched-forward position that a lot of race seats seem to do.
It was comfortable and I liked it a lot, but in the end I decided it wasn't for me - my back is generally terrible and I need very specific cushioning in my mid- to lower back, more than others do, and the support was a bit low for me, despite being the same as I've experienced in other race seat that I've tried (Sparco Sprint comes to mind) so I felt it might not offer the support I need on longer journeys.
If you are not as broken as me, though, I think it would be fine. I know a lot of people swear by the various race seats that are out there, which I find to all be comfortable for short periods but which quickly start to hurt, so I am clearly the one who needs looking at!
So, I thought I'd post up in case anyone else was interested. Garath was happy for me to do so, so please get in touch with him if you'd like to check it out / get it bought.

It's rare. It's JDM. It looks great. I wish I wasn't broken... lol
