Jass Performance do blanks/cages/gauge mounts. I wanted gauges, audio and a cubby hole so installed a small amp behind the glove box on the firewall and just plug the iPhone in. I think there are pics on my build thread...
Yep page 3. There are handy studs in the firewall to mount a bracket to. So easy even I could do it!

Just had a read. Excellent!
The main reason I wanted to hide it all was safety.
I'd probably ditch it all but the Mrs will use it now and then and she will need something to listen to her Euro pop crap on.

I don't think the glove box will be big enough for a headunit. They aren't big. Behind... sure. If you don't have aircon. But then you'll need steering wheel controls or a remote.

I don't have air con and my Alpine h-u does have a remote.
I wonder if I can remove the back of the glove box

Is it the depth that would be an issue? There are some short cage headunits becoming available now which are just media recievers (ie no CD player) that might work well.

It's a Chinese piece of quality engineering. About 3/4 the depth of a CD HU. It takes the bluetooth music from my phone brilliantly and I can skip tracks. Can't do anything else mind, so it's far from perfect. Still, £26 delivered from China isn't bad. Although I was petrified when I got a call while adriving and a Chinese lady read out the phone number very loudly

Although I was petrified when I got a call while adriving and a Chinese lady read out the phone number very loudly I bought a Pioneer one from Halfrauds for £50 quid, a short one. USB input, does quite nicely. If I had spent a bit more I coulda had bluetooth I think around £80?
