Hi all, I thought I'd introduce myself. I've just bought a (fairly) rust free 1994 Eunos G-Ltd 1.8 with a view to 1) doing it up and making it it nice and solid underneath, before 2) attempting to put a Jag V6 in it using a Rocketeer kit. I will doubtless have many questions, so I'm looking forward to spending a bit of time browsing the forum. Anyway, a quick pic of my car as I picked it up, about 2 days before I started taking it apart! IMG_2515 by Jon Fellows, on Flickr

Cheers for the welcome guys. As I say, I don't know a lot about Mx5's, so everything I do has loads of questions attached to it while I research it. Its very irritating for people...! The build thread I've started on pistonheads can be found here: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=1709711It's definitely a two stage plan though, with the engine swap coming after I've undersealed and redone all the suspension and then got it back on the road and any kinks ironed out. I don't want to end up changing everything in one go as fault finding the inevitable problems just gets really hard.

Great build, personally I think the v6 jag engine is the best way to power.an mx5, nice one!

Love the write up on PH, and will be excellent! Can't justify the spend myself (well, not without involving a divorce!!), but fully understand why you would want to do it.
BTW that's not a rusty '5 and you'd want to do that prep work for a +20 year old car, so consider it money well invested.

Cheers for the positive comments. It’s good fun, but quite a bit different to work on than my old TVR. So a bit of a learning curve!
I’m keeping track of my costs, and I think it’s going to be quite an upsetting figure, just to get it all solid clean underneath. But it’ll be nice to know it’s done and a good basis for the conversion.
