The Road to Little Dribbling by Bill Bryson. A curious account of his version of his beloved England (even though he's from Des Moines!). Finished recently 'The Art of Happiness' by the Dalai Lama. He makes it sound awfully easy...

1492: the Year Our World Began by Felipe Fernández-Armesto
I am not really that interested in the specifics of history but I am half way through this and finding it quite difficult to put down. Some surprising insights around the beginnings of global trade and the geopolitics that landed us where we are today.

He makes it sound awfully easy... The Road to Little Dribbling was thoroughly amusing. Currently reading The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie, nothing too sophisticated, just a thriller, but well written and humorous.
