With a heavy heart I type this...
Real life imposes itself upon me once again and, against my wishes, my lovely MX5 unfortunately has to go...
Details....
2000 W 1.8i Mk2 Limited Edition 'Icon' 1840cc DOHC with 6 speed 'box and Torson Limited Slip Differential.
Art Vin Mica Metallic paintwork with a polished mahogany and beige leather interior - the original ICON mats, rare beige hood cover and wind deflector are present and in excellent condition.
A brand new Sony MP3 stereo head unit was professionally fitted just last week along with upgrade speakers and additional cabling to the rear should you wish to install further speakers behind the seats in the future..
The original hood has a few cracks on the seams but it is watertight and has a fully working glass heated screen. The original electric aerial has been stripped and lubed and is working perfectly as are the windows and mirrors.
Power steering is nice and light yet provides perfect feel on turn in.
Lowered 40mm all round giving an excellent stance and much improved turn in.
Stainless Steel rear exhaust with just the right tone to it.
The alloys are Rota RB's in gunmetal metallic with polished rims fitted with Uniroyal 205 50 15's with excellent tread (Cost £700+) including Purple Anodised internal-drive tuner nuts.
Polished K&N Typhoon kit and Polished alloy Strut Brace and new front lower grille fitted. Lights de-Tango'd. Scorpion Alarm and Immobiliser System with Remote control central locking.
Chassis Rails done by The MX5 Restorer Ltd (i.e properly)
Some surface corrosion in the usual places which will need rectifying to make a perfect car but perfectly sound currently.
Some sun hazing to the bonnet paintwork (I am fussy) but should respond well to a machine polish.
Recently serviced and with an MOT until March the 20th which it passed with no advisories @ 99008 the day before I acquired it.
Current mileage is just 100700 meaning I've covered only 1700 miles hence the sale.....
She starts instantly on the first touch of the key every time and runs perfectly with excellent oil pressure and no leaks of any kind, handles superbly, accelerating strongly and smoothly with no flat spots, brakes very well (ABS) and there are no suspect noises.
Present is the original Leather wallet with handbooks, workshop manual, Old MOT's and bills etc....
Very reluctantly selling and giving first dibs to forum members before offering to the wider world....
£2500.
