1.3 litres of cost-effective 4-cylinder motoring. 5 speed. 57K Miles on the clock. Runs on 95 ron fuel. FWD. Location: South London (Carshalton) I'm looking for £550. I bought this car for that money last year and I've serviced it.. New clutch & cover with - exedy ones, and given it an oil service (including gearbox) with good quality oils, I also flushed the PAS with new fluid, and flushed the clutch system too. New front left CV boot & grease. Has a nearly new bosch battery. Very un-rusty - drives well. It'll be on steely tyres not the sprint harts. The chassis is a galvanized job so looks like new still. heh. Typical 90s toyota... Very sensible car to run over winter if you want to keep your mx5 off the salty roads. Did I mention, it takes any mk1/mk2 MX5 wheel.. it's 4x100 PCD.... the #onetruepcd Only negatives - each corner has been rattlecanned in places where the previous owner learned to park. Reason for purchase: Needed a low-insurance reliable car to teach the wife to drive in.. also, 4x100 yo ? Reason for sale: Got a bigger car (Carib) for babby duties and waifu has enough experience to drive something bigger now.

How quick slow is it? lol
FWD, I assume??
PAS? Decent steering feel?
Tempting to stick it on winter tyres and laugh at willy-waving £££££ SUVs sliding around on crap summer tyres lol

FWD - this is an EP91. - the K70 or K60 starlets were RWD Engine.. The 2nd Generation of the 4E-FE was introduced in 1996 producing less peak power: 74 bhp (55 kW) at 5,500 rpm, but with a slight increase in peak torque 87 lb⋅ft (118 N⋅m) at 4,400 rpm. You can definitely break the speedlimit heh - for power you can replace the inlet mani with a bug-eye corolla one (and ecu, maybe - it's a MAP engine so handles changes well) and gain power. It's good to drive, in the same way a casio digital watch is good to wear. It does the job of being a car as simply and reliably as possible.

Steering feel is good enough to enjoy driving it. I think the car weighs less than 900KGs. The rear parcel shelf is removable and you can drop the rear seats for lugging duties.

Hmmmmm..... Now I'm thinking that stripped-out, <800kg, and some slight power mods could make perfect sense for my 100 mile round trip, 50/50 country roads/motorway commute... LOL

WTAF
Insurance quotes as a standalone policy with zero NCD and one fault accident 2 years ago (thanks to my canoetard neighbour who lives his life getting into debt and not paying it back while being a preacher at a church, apparently, grrrr) are coming out at £700+ for Fully Comp and £500 excess! And more for TPFT or just Third Party!
It's an insurance group 9! And I am old!!
How does anyone insure anything with no NCB??
I'll have to chat to my current broker and see if I could add a vehicle to my policy, as insurance + car tax would turn this into a £1500 motor...

and btw that is insurance group 9 out of 40/50 - the new system, it'd be a 4/5 in the old system, which was out of 20?

I've got some 14" steelies with NEXEN WINGUARD 175/65r14 tyres - these are 3PMSF M+S rated winter tyres. They've got tons of tread on them and are in very good nick.

They'll probably mirror your no claims, or worst case you can split your current no claims between the two cars.... If this had 3drs I'd be on it for prarrie canoes and giggles... I even have a set of wheels ready to go on... Haha

I had a lovely white 3 door when I was in Brisbane as a runaround. SUCH a good chassis, and holy crap it is a handling joy. Mine was on Pedders lowering springs and hilarious tyres. Still rekt Scoobies on the Aussie touge tho ahahha
People, do an PURCHASÉ!
