6 years without cleaning?! Sounds like my daily Fair play though, it looks awesome once clean! Looking forward to see more.

Like your stick on number plate, ever get any aggro MOT time? I've only had it MOT'd once by Mtech so no, not really. It went through MOT's no worries with the previous owner. I'm actually considering ordering a small square plate as i have a Carbing offset bracket to sit it off to the side of the front bumper (took it off a breaker). Would clean up the front end a little. Need to get some new tyres for my 16" Advan RG's as they look so good and it's a shame to use the AD08R's day to day, albeit i dont drive it other than rare occasions so they havent got loads of miles put on them. Will have a think about that. Gagging to get it to some trackdays this year but dont seem to have the time to research whats going on. Anyone have any ideas whats coming up? Im in the south east but could travel back west if there's anything going on. North is not ideal but wouldnt mind trying out some of the reputable tracks, donny etc

Absolutely yeah. It's easily the best handling mx5 chassis i've ever owned (out of quite a few), but not pushed it on track to find it's limits. Not having ABS will also be a new one on track, so that'll be interesting...

I've not had a car on track with Abs and not once wished I'd had it.

Yeah to be fair im more worried about getting caught out napping on the road. Greasy cruise, stamp on the anchors when someone pulls out on you and lock them up without really paying attention. Scares the prarrie canoe out of me.
It has OEM brakes currently with yellowstuff pads but i have a front set of Hispec Billet4's to go on, with some mk2.5 SVT rears. just need to get round to installing them. They werent super aggressive on the car i removed them from, albeit with CL RC56 pads they were a Canoeing nightmare and rubbish until they got to about 7,000degrees.

Looks like an absolute weapon. I'm sure yours will warp past my humble V6 swap with all that turbo torque! I was talking to someone with the same turbo power levels as yours. He is currently on his fifth or sixth gearbox. I think they are now a consumable item haha
ps
Did it feel amazing finally getting to drive it again? I can't imagine how it would feel to miss my car for that long!

Thanks man. Yeah it goes pretty well - i've not driven a v6 mx5 myself, but i had someone comment that it is noticably quicker than v6 mx5's (referring to the rocketeer kit that uses the jag units which i believe are circa 250bhp'ish), so that was quite interesting feedback. This person has driven quite a few mazdas of various specifications so knows more on it that i do.
To be honest i never drove it much before it got taken off the road, i had loads of other mx5s and vehicles to drive so didnt really miss it as such. I drove it once pretty much and the clutch was slipping anyway so whilst it was quick, it was flawed at that stage. The T28R was an awesome turbo though, i did try to re-use it but the TD05 was realistically a better option for maximising the engine.
I'll check out your build thread now you got the details updated. If you're local i'd happily take you for a drive in it matey.
