Here’s a bit about my 92 TVR Griffith: I bought it May 2002 & immediately started tinkering; I set the brakes on fire on the drive home from collecting it so that was the first of many changes- 4.5 LITRE CONVERSION-PTP BIG VALVE POLISHED & PORTED Stage IV HEADS - V8 Developments YELLA TERRA ROLLER ROCKERS- V8 Tuner "ULTRA" PORTED INLET MANIFOLD - TVR Power "KITSNCLASSICS" BLENDED 45MM TRUMPET BASE CROSS BOLTED MAIN BEARINGS JOHN EALES FRONT COVER & MODDED OIL PUMP V8 Enhancements Exhaust Manifolds 8-4-2-1 STEALTH CAM MULFABS GATED SUMP EMERALD ECU TWIN COILPACKS ALUMINIUM RADIATOR UPRATED CLUTCH FULL GEO SETUP BY GUGLIELMI LIGHTWEIGHT ADJUSTABLE PLATFORM BILSTEINS EIBACH SPRINGS Hispek 283 discs + 4 pot calipers + DS2500 pads After doing a lot of trackdays, I finally realized an ambition in 2013 & did a bit of hill climbing + sprints in the Bugatti Owner’s Club competition. After I worked out the handicap system was flawed (target times) I switched to the TVRCC Speed Championship in 2014 & won the V8 class that year & the following one too.

Yeah, that’s not the ideal racing line through ‘pardon’ hairpin at Prescott. To be honest I out braked myself going into the corner & was far too deep; the only way to get round was to give it a bit of gas. I overdid it a bit guess what happened the second after the picture? On my next run up the hill I beat my previous record......

Having real aggro with Footman James on the insurance at the moment.
They say I’m insuring it over market value.
Having looked at what’s on the market, I can’t find a fully rebuilt 4.5 Big Valve Griffith...... Some nice cars but none like mine that have been so extensively rebuilt.

Is there a TVR owners' club that might have a link to a decent insurer? Surely if there's other cars on the market that aren't as well specced, yours must be worth more than that market value?!

Try ERS, they were very accommodating with my agreed value.

Funny I spot this, I was wondering the other day if anyone had gone mx5/TVR or vice-versa. Seems to be the usual S2000/Elise/350Z route.
How'd you find the comparison between the two?
I've not tried to get an agreed valuation on my Footman James quote, I've just tried Brentcare.

Since having my 1st MX5 in 2016, the Griffith barely scrapes 1000 miles/year. In fact nowhere near. It’s not even MOTd at the moment as it just sits in the garage under a cover.
