Hi all,
I've finally got my NB track car built and after doing a couple of shakedowns to sort some basic issues i'm now starting the improvement cycle that always comes with track toys. First on the list is definitely increasing the amount of available front camber. The maximum we could get this too was about -1.3 both sides, and really i want to be closer to -2.5 minimum.
I do not want to lower the front any further as i've currently got just the right amount of travel with it corner weighted to me in the car. I'll actually be running slightly less than -1.3 now as i removed the PAS and therefore had to pull back the caster too (only using rear wishbone bolt) which if my calculations are right probably means i'm now around -1.15, either way it's maxed out on the front wishbone bolt.
As i see it the options i have are:
1. Extended ball joints - give an increase of 2 or 3 degrees, however may limit the minimum caster i can run and put it back over 5 or 6 degrees which i don't want without PAS.
2. Adjustable wishbones - I see hardrace do adjustable upper arms. They don't state what increase this will provide
3. Offset bushes - I've seen upper and lower available. The superpro lower arm bushes would make sense considering all other bushes i have are also superpro but again limited info on what increase they can provide, also will that push the caster forward again? The other option are offset upper bushes . These say they'll give an increase of -1.5 which would be about bang on for what i'm after and are also the cheapest option, but i can't find anybody this side of the pond mention them?
Are there any other options i've not considered? What have other people done as it looks to be a common issue on NB cars (limited range of camber that is).
