Is there a trick to bleeding the brakes in a MK2.5 with ABS? Just changed the fluid for a sprint I’m doing tomorrow at Combe & the pedal is still a bit spongy. I would say that I’ve still got air in the system but I started at the farthest away caliper & finished at the front. Did about 8 pumps per caliper & no bubbles came out. Flipping odd.

Powerbleed? ABS can be a pain, any pipe-joints been disturbed?
Rich.

Nothing’s been moved, I just thought a quick bleed might firm up the peddle. The ABS pump/distribution block seems to be the highest point in the system but there’s no bleed possibility there as far as I can see.
The master cylinder is only 2 years old & the fluid being pumped out isn’t cloudy at all.
Guess it’ll have to do, don’t think I’m going to be leaning too hard on the brakes tomorrow as I think it’s going to be pretty greasy at Combe with all the rain.

Hmm, the brakes are absolutely fine on the road in normal driving. But if I really stamp on them I can’t trigger the ABS/lock a wheel momentarily. The pedal is feeling a little squidgy & goes soft.
Anyone got any ideas?

Turns out the master cylinder was knackered. Replaced & bled the brakes again & all’s good.
