Hi All
I'm hoping to have my car back soon, and in working order (which will be a nice change!), and so can start fiddling with some areas of the car that I feel could be improved.
One of these is that the interior is a bit tired, and frankly, I feel a bit boring. Now, a NA interior is a pretty basic affair by design and I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, but a touch more flair would be nice I feel.
Has anyone gone down this route at all? I see various stainless bits by Jass Performance, which if tastefully done could be nice - I fear to just throw loads of bits at it though as it could end up looking a mess. Are there any other sources of bits I've missed? I confess that I'm not convinced by the stick-on covers that can be bought for the tombstone etc, but some pictures of them installed would be interesting.
I'd be interested to see any pictures of peoples NA interiors if willing to share. I would be looking less at a track focused strip, and more a few nice touches to lift it slightly.
Any thoughts would be good.

Switching out the buttons for lever ones from jass is a great move for a mk1 interior I really loath the door handles, so putting in some door pulls works well there. I've made my own out of old PS belts, which are super strong and don't look too bad.

I kept mine simple, there's a few Jass bits in it, plus leather cowl and tombstone.

I've seen a lot of mk1 interiors and generally the less fussy they are, the better they are to actually be in. ditching the radio helps. also avoid gauge pods on the A pillar etc. some guages in the console are OK but for me I prefer them hidden.

My general feeling was less is more (although there is a dark part of me that likes quilted leather!)...
Cheers for posting up the picture. I'm going for a road car only look, so not particularly stripped out. I originally fancied trying for a more 'luxury' look, like my old TVR, but I think I'd just end up spending bucket-loads to get something out was never designed to be.
So now I'm thinking just fresh carpets, and a few new nice bits to lift it a trifle. Plus retrimmed seats of course...!

I'd have the steering wheel but not much else, it's just too much stuff to look at. I recon if you take a few things but not the whole shebang you can get a more relaxed interior sensation. I recommend having a look at www.instagram.com/oem_minus/ 's interior it's .. taking it the other way, for sure!

I’m also a big fan of the stripped out race car look, used to drool over the old school hot rod stuff back in the days of Custom Car, Hot Rod and Custom and Street Machine. Yes I’m that old...
