Hi everyone
i'm having some problems with my NC 2006 immobiliser. Without any patterns that i noticed, sometimes the key car light flashes rapidly and won't let me start the car. Sometimes will start first thing in the morning, sometimes it won't. Sometimes i'll drive it 10 min then when i get back in it, it will not let me start. I take the key in and out a few times then it starts. The spare key seemed to work fine at first but then the issue came back. During the summer period it never had this issue, only when it got cold things started to play up.
Things I did so far: - replaced battery in the keys - I sprayed the key transponder with some electric fast dry spray. - that's it.....
I read things online and some suggested a new immobiliser system from the dealer costing a lot of money.
What are my options? :/

I hate electronics - anything you can't fix with proper tools is a PITA, lol.
How old is the battery? Could you get it tested at a Halfords or similar? Low/wavering voltages can cause weird issues. The fact it's only started doing it when the weather is cold, which is not good for batteries, could be a tell-tale sign.
Other than that, could be a failing transponder/receiver thing on the car - not sure if you can buy them new on their own, and/or if they are coded to the car??

Same, I don't know much about wires. I don't know how old the battery is, I just bought the car late summer this year. Thing is it does it even after i drove the thing for like 10-20 min. You get back in it 2 min later and it plays up. You would have thought the battery is charged.
The chances that both keys have a failed transpondent is low but still possible. I'm thinking receiver maybe....but then again, i don't know.

fixed - transponder inside the key issue. Went to Timpsons and reprogrammed another one for £50. Now works every time.
