Looks great Love the bracing, must be a blast to drive. How did the front chassis legs look ? Front legs are solid - I had them check the entire car end to end. Theres no corrosion at all on the legs. They say its the most solid Mk2 they've had on the ramps.
Original owner had the car professionally waxoyl'd when it was about 3 years old. Seems it did its job... along with the car being a garage queen for dry use only. There's only 41k on it.
The car suffered a soft dent in storage at the local garage, so I've to get that done by the local dent removal firm. After that..... I need to get back to enjoying the car. Its needing MOT, so I've a short wait yet....

Just came across this thread and what an absolute joy to read fair dues sir, a great job. In the market myself for a similar spec finished product, pretty hard to come across good ones and even more difficult to view at present. Was supposed to finalize deal this week on one (unseen) but not looking good. I take it you were delighted with MX5partsNI work? My idea is to try and buy the finished article with full G19 kit then take it to them to deal with the inevitable rust??? Still very much on the initial learning curve but your thread is fantastic encouragement.

I got lucky when I found this car for sale 7 years ago.... it only had 36k on it and had been well looked after. It had been waxoyl'd professionally which is paying dividends now.
I am indeed delighted with the work of the lads at MX5PartsNI - they did a brilliant job and kept me updated with photos on WhatsApp along the way. I'd supplied a box of new bolts for most of the rebuild (small box... £195 of genuine bolts!) - but any old bolts that they had to refit - were wire brushed and painted. Even after torquing up, they topped up the silver paint so there were no marks! I'll be using them again in the future.
I suspect if you're looking for a clean, pre converted G19 boosted car, you'll be needing to get on a ferry. Can't see that existing on our island... there's a few boosted Mk1's up north here, but they rarely come up for sale.
My own plan for now is to get used to the car on its new coil overs with all this new chassis stiffening. It might well be that more power isnt what I needed. The roads are nice n twisty round these parts, so I suspect I'll have my kicks without adding power. I just worry about ruining the reliability. Oh... and spending over £3k on top of what's been spent already! In saying that... I've been lurking on the BOFI Racing website and drooling at their supercharger kits... Oh dear

Right... I'm getting there at last!! The one last issue with this car is the stinky seats. They're not THAT bad... but after a drive, from day 1 of owning this car, there's a mould smell DEEP in the seats. I must've spent £40 over time with every attempt to neutralise the smell, but I give up. Game over. So..... this happened! They're custom trimmed in full grain leather, double stitched, embroidered logos. Came from a silver Mk2.5 Sport just like mine... NO SMELL ON THEM!!! My son gets what he wanted here too.... heated seats. He loves those. They've been re foamed too - WAY more supportive than OE and softer too. REALLY lovely. No idea where they were trimmed as I bought off a breaker in Gumtree. Came from England on a pallet. Delighted!

A few final gifts from 4 years of neglect and a garage where they tipped all my parts inside the car... my armrest got scratched up. Time for a new one and time to get the carbon fibre shift knob fitted that my son bought me 5 years ago!!! The finished job... and only £26 delivered!! Great service from pmsportscars.com/ and great that they dont rip the arm in for postage. £6 for a console from mainland to NI was fantastic value. And finally... a close up of that lovely carbon knob. I searched a long time to get a carbon knob with the 6 speed shift pattern on it. Bonus that the text is silver!

Last update for now. I'd fitted silver/clear reflectors a long time back but never really liked them that much. Not on a silver car. Front was ok.. but not the rear. So, lets try red: BEFORE: AFTER: Yup. I like that better! Had a good 20 mile scalp in the car today. Those MeisterR's are FANTASTIC. They're more comfortable than the original Bilsteins, yet great at speed on the corners. I started at the recommended -15F, -20R (starting full hard and softening back). That was too wallowy so I added +5 to each axle. ie. -10F, -15R. Perfect. I could go a BIT harder... but some of our B roads are awful. I'm running IL Motorsport bushes on the rebuilt rear, originals on the front. I think I've gone as far as I can before re-bushing the front and then considering stiffer anti-roll bars. Next on my to-do list is front pads (green stuff to match the rears) and braided hoses. I'm meeting corners a lot faster than before and that brake pedal is a bit mushy. Glad I stuck with this wee car.... its put a smile right back on my face again!!

Few shots of where I'm at. This wee car has come back good!! I'm LOVING driving it. The mods work well together to make it a really fun drive. It was with a local paint correction specialist detailer. Every single ding removed via paintless dent repair (the guy is a magician!). Machine polish, 2 layers of ceramic coat... its REALLY turned out well.
