Make sure to wiggle the oil pressure sensor plug, underneath the intake manifold - it might be a poor connection, meaning the pressure shows low on the dial. (That's what mine does.)

Clunking... Any shiney sparkles of DEATH on the dipstick ? I'd suggest an investigatory oil change before you run that engine again

I'd suggest an investigatory oil change before you run that engine again I cant see anything on the dipstick thankfully, but that's not to say that there isnt any metal in there. First thought I'd somehow fitted the cover incorrectly but having double checked today feel it's on and is the sam as the one I took off. Thought maybe the cams were hitting it or something.
