anyone know of somewhere that can shorten and balance a propshaft, preferably in Sussex?

I shortened a cortina propshaft to fit a Mk1 Escort, I wrapped a sheet of paper around it to mark a square cut for the length. I cut it just after the weld at the nose which was then set up in a lathe to square it up then the two bits were put back together making sure the joints were aligned properly then it was welded up. It was not balanced but the car would do just over 100 mph with no vibration from it.

I had considered doing it myself but the engine is going to be putting down 450-500HP and although I trust my welding ability I would not trust an unbalanced prop at high RPM with that sort of load.

Not particularly close to Sussex unfortunately.....I used to use propshaft services in Feltham near Heathrow airport when I lived down South. propshaft-services.co.uk/
