My engine build was inspired by Quinns work. but with lots of differences. Piper 285 reground cams. supertek valves springs and titanium spring retainers. light port smoothing. de shrouded valves. 60 thou head skim. Danst gsxr ITBs. Lightened stock flywheel. I am using an ME221 ecu rev limit set at 8000 RPM. Simpson Racing Exhaust Manifold with an M2 Motorsport 2 1/2" system silenced mid pipe and 200 cell cat. I do not have a current dyno sheet for the set up with this exhaust system.
I have another Mk2.5 1840cc engine stripped down on the bench ready for some new internals. Which will be forged and expensive. This will be bored to 85mm and have high compression forged pistons installed. I have all the mechanical bits apart from rods at the moment. I am likely to be fitting a custom de stroked crankshaft with longer rods to make the engine a high compression over square 1798cc It will be having an upgrade in the ITBs as well.
