Hey Sandy, what are your tyres this year? Back to road tyres as I can't be sure what events I'll make this year and wanted the car to be able to do every event like Autosolo etc. If I was getting 1Bs it would probably be Extremes. Yeah, there was a guy raving about those at Prescott last year, but he was only 1 sec quicker than me on rainsports (he had 250 hp too) so not worth it. I like the look of the compound on the Interstate DNRTs - only 80 treadwear which is much softer than the R888R. Still interested in these AR1s though, but I recon they’ll be poor in the wet.

hard to compare on times alone, like myself you get a lot more out of your Mazda than most get out of their Mazda or otherwise in class , I too have typically been quicker than guys on extremes but feeling the temp of the tyres and how soft and sticky after they come in from a run they would appear to be another level and have definitely switched on, my tyres are often stone cold.

Obviously I have not tried them, it is not a recommendation based on my experience, but people I have been competing against have found more time over r888 sg with them, just not always enough to take me

Are the extremes remoulds rather than new tyres?

I think they do both, NKs are new.

Remoulds are label exempt and so can go on the MSA 1B list. A new carcass tyre is a new tyre and therefore subject to European Efficiency labelling. If it does not meet this, it would, if submitted, be a 1C tyre and not eligible for Sprints etc requiring 1B tyres.

The MSA put out a clarification that the Extreme VR2 NK are also list 1B despite being a new carcass.
