I had a quick look at an auto-manual swap vid earlier and this guy's flywheel looks very different to mine (vid will play at the part where the flywheel is visible) His one has sticking up bits while mine is flat apart from the dowels... the (smaller diameter) 1.6L flywheel is flat across the friction-face whereas the vid shows a 1.8L flywheel, these have a slightly larger diameter clutch and use a different design of pressure-plate the 1.8L flywheel / clutch has aparently more torque capability in it's standard form due to it's larhger diameter (leaverage etc.) but also is heavier with greater rotating mass so for your use I'd stay with the 'lighter' 1.6L setup Rich. Ah good, I didn't watch the whole thing to know it was a 1.8 so at least that's not something I need to worry about!

I've been out getting the base duty cycle map done in open loop before I take it closed loop with targets based on TPS points.
Since my trubro'd engine is stock infernals I've got go keep the torque down before 3K rpm, but after that I can safely (it's a thing) reach out to 11psi as long as I keep it from knocking. So I'm keeping a good eye on the knock thresholds while keeping it around 11.5 AFR (which is just a hint richer than the 11.76:1 Rich best torque).
My engine is noisiest around the 2.5K-3K mark .. once it's loaded up over 3K it actually quietens down significantly. And the G4X is configured with both a richen-it-up-and-retard-it-automatically strategy. If it sees knock over the threshold it automatically gives more fuel or less timing for the cylinder that saw the knock - by relative, I mean how much over the threshold (loud!), it will retard or fuel by how much louder than the threshold the knock was. Also it can gradually remove the applied retard or richening over time.

brake bleed and general inspection underneath and in the wheel arches for my 5 today. I found my first problem too im guessing the earth strap on the neg terminal of the battery should not be held on with duct tape…

ITB car faff day(s)
Replaced the clutch master with a Maruha unit, Sachs/ZF slave and a direct clutch line from Destroy or Die. (thanks be to BO-FEE)
I enjoyed ripping out all the bizarre mazda routing (it was to give a standard primary part of the line for both LHD and RHD.. but on a RHD car it's just stupid). The new line uses the original holder just above the bell housing.
New slave pusher is all lubed up with Granville's finest red rubber grease XD One tub might last you a decade.
Clutch is more direct and somehow lighter now too..
Now will the leak on my floor matt be gone ?
I pray.

Put the passenger seat to good use.. Cheap wheelbase Cheap wheelbase stand Better pedals Expensive seat… Love this Have you considered fitting a 'bass shaker' to the subframe setup so the seat vibrates with in-game sounds?

No leaks yet.
I went the whole hog and got the car up on a lift today - replaced the coolant, gearbox oil (put in the BOFI mix) and diff oil (motul motylgear gl5).
I wish I had a car lift at home XD

Mazda is currently in jail , electric garage door has stopped working, motor still works, but the door won't open more than an inch. I think it'll be a brute force effort and fix the remains. Was looking into some different brakes also, either the freaky parts adapters, larger sports brakes or a Subaru front setup. Depends what comes up, I think I need to improve my brake bleeding setup as well as they don't seem to bleed well by just pumping the pedal.

Really? I thought they were ok in the past but it's been a while since I used them, any direct issues with them or the components? Not too fused about the additional weight but would like the extra braking, if the Subaru brakes don't work out I'll go with the sport brakes.

it comes down to QA - Stewart as OK 5 years ago but the quality of stuff he's produced has just gone down, with poor fitment etc. I can provide two direct personal examples in this regard if you really want them. And yes one involved brakes.
