Hi there i havent got my mx5 yet but i do have a westfeild with a 1.6 mx5 engine in it with a set of jenvey throttle bodies omex 600 ecu and a few other bits and peices. ive driven the car for a while now and the enevitable has happened i want more power now as i say ive got a set of jenveys which are great the noise is unreal. but ive just got my self a td04 turbo from a scooby also having the manifold and stuff made for turboing and was wondering can a car with ITBS be turboed whilst still using them or do i need to go back to the standard manifold www.jenvey.co.uk/products2/throttle-body-kits/mazda-mx5-1-6-tb42-throttle-body-kit-ckmz03above is the throttle body kit that i have they make a turbo plenum for the throttle bodies www.jenvey.co.uk/products2/turbo-plenum/turbo-plenum-sm-70mm-inlet-apsc-70but im not sure if it can work with individual bodies i know the cost is mad for using both but i already have the throttle bodies fitted and running smoothly and in a westfeild the make the wiring easier any thoughts are much appreciated

Without direct knowledge of the setup you have, you can definitely put a turbo on ITBs.
All motorbike turbo conversions, including mine, run the standard throttle bodies, and just take the compressed air feed and send it to all TB intakes.
You'll have to have a pretty special air feed, I'd imagine it would have to be a one off, but other than that the ITBs wont make a difference.

when you say a special air feed what do you mean by this sorry im a bit new to turboing always been N/A im having the turbo maifold made by revent reventshop.com/as i know someone who has a 1.8 westfeild running the same kit as the down pipe exit is slighlty different to the standard mazda routing im being supplied with a kit to do what i need. i already have the turbo i was hoping to run it through a FMIC and then through the jenvey throttle bodies via there turbo plenum. im not looking to break world records just looking for a nice power level anything upwards of 150bhp to 200 bhp is more than adequate in a westfeild im just trying to gauge what i need to do it

to turbo ITBs generally a box is built around the trumpets, on cars like ours..
But I honestly don't think the gains are that great though, over just turboing the car with a normal manifold.
given you already have jenveys, why not get more revs out of it (cams) and a touch more compression ?
lag on a westfield will be sad.

i do already have the jenveys but i also still have the original mx5 inlet so going back to that isnt a problem i just like the idea of the turbo when you say a box built around the trumpets do you mean each trumpet seperatly boxed in i was hoping id be able to keep the jenveys i know the gains arent that big with itbs and turbos youve got me thinking now im not entirley sure what i want to do lol

i have seen this russell i was hoping i could use this im just wondeing if its more trouble than its worth to use the jenveys. if i should sell them and go back to standard manifold. im not sure if im going to have mapping problems. i assume im gonna need to fit a map sensor somewhere
