Has anyone else had issues with the Cobalt exhausts that Moss sell? I have a cat-back system fitted to my MK1 and had to send the first exhaust back to Moss because something broke loose inside the mid-silencer and started rattling. The same thing has just happened to the replacement they sent me, has anyone else had this issue? The noise is pretty apparent around the 2-3k rpm range, driving or revved stationary.

Daft question, but it's not a heat shield above the exhaust, rather than the exhaust itself??

Mine was ok for the 2 or 3 years I had it, worth going back to them about it as they are a decent company

No. Its something coming loose inside the centre silencer, you can hear it when you take the centre section of exhaust off the car and shake it about. Kinda feel bad going back to Moss about the same issue again, I'd rather get my money back so I can get something else rather than end up with another cobalt.

Ah, fair enough, that seems fairly definitive lol
It might be a manufacturing weakness, in which case Cobalt should be told so they know and can address it - Moss is kind of the middle-man so it's not ideal for them!
Perhaps contact Cobalt direct?

I would contact Cobalt if I could find any details to contact them by! I would hazard a guess it's Moss' own brand or something, probably the same as most other 'made in china' exhaust systems available for the MX5.

Ah, in that case I think Moss will be the way forward... lol
