Halfords, Mobil 1, I have used it for 3 years with no ill effects, changed it a fortnight ago, needn’t have bothered, like new.

If it’s oil for the nose of the charger you’re looking for i wouldn’t use Mobil 1. Mobil Jet 11 or BP2380 are the correct spec.

Whatever you use, be aware that you may have to adjust the oil content, the m45 (cannot comment on others), is located in a position different to its designed installation, so the oil contained in the bearing housings is at a non standard level when fitted to our cars.

Re step 12, hence my comment about adjusting the oil content, the charger is on its side in our application so would not contain as much oil if filled in situ, if you fill it level then the oil level is below the bearings when fitted and will rely on oil splashed up by the index gears. However, I think the snout bearing relies more on mist lubrication than actual immersion...

I changed my '62 oil and coupler some years ago and I recall that the correct amount of oil was frustratingly just over half a bottle (so you couldn't get 2 changes from 1 bottle). It was something like 120ml from a 200ml bottle. Somewhere in the garage I've still got that bottle, so I'll search it out when I can (bit under the weather at the moment but when I'm betterer).

Hi Martin, your on here too!
Just what I need to know! Your turn with the horrible virus then! Get well soon. I was after the volume needed and probably need the oil seal as advertised in the Mini kit just to be safe.
Hear from you later!
cheers

Hiya Nick. I still haven't got as far the garage but now I'm not so dizzy/nauseous I searched old emails and found it's 110ml of oil for the nose of our MP62s. Quite a bit less than a Mini blower. Hope that helps.
