It was like drinking a cocktail of adreneline and pure hilarity while riding an angry lion down a roller coaster. Total mentalism What just happened? Dazed and confused now LOL

You are welcome to have a go sometime. Seeing as you are a better / more experienced track driver than me I'd feel comfortable. I will try and get to a meet sometime when it warms up.
Wannabe has always been very sensible in the past, so I fully trust him. Although... I think he has been corrupted by power more recently. His overtakes were not shy

No worries. Yeah I will make some effort as soon as the cosmetic stuff is done and the likely crap weather passes by. Should be reliably warmer in march/april onwards I guess. I'd be too scared to push it on an unknown track in the cold / damp. Now the steering has changed the entire car feels different, so lots to relearn as it is.

Wannabe has always been very sensible in the past, so I fully trust him. Although... I think he has been corrupted by power more recently. His overtakes were not shy I'm all about the making progress wherever possible and sensible lol No jealous, obstructive moron in a 2.0 turbodiesel repmobile is going to be able to put their foot down and accelerste to stop you coming back in like they do when one is in lower powered cars! haha I like the power, though - I think it makes you chill out because if you're being held up by a dawdler, you don't have to make a potentially sketchy overtake at the earliest opportunity like you might have to in a lower powered car, you can just hang back and choose your moment, knowing you can flash by a single car in the blink of an eye or even do a line of several vehicles with plenty in reserve. I think any keenness I have to overtake might be tempered somewhat if there is an unintentionally sideways moment when under power, though... lol. As always, things are fine and dandy, right up to the moment they stop being fine and dandy... . And if someone is trying to push you along and see what it will do / 'beat' you, resistance is a must if it's not totally clear/dry/safe - people in their shiny new cars with ABS / TC / ESP / SSC / XYZ have nothing to worry about and don't appreciate that a 5 has none of that stuff!! I think it's a great car for encouraging / enforcing advanced driving techniques - they really do help make it feel less dangerous, because they are all about better observation, braking appropriately in advance of obstacles or bends, not overlapping braking and gear changing (which can unsettle the car)...

Buy an ECU! once it's your car has been mapped well, there will be more power and it might be be cheaper on fuel... Might be.

HI Folks, I am now thinking about the MOT on my project car ! I have been wondering why the servo has not been playing as it should, I finally tracked it down to a stuck non return valve, easy fix just blow through it. I now have a working servo !!! Next job is too fill its voids with Dinitrol now all the mechanical stuff is done.
