Actually went out and drove it, let my mate drive it also since he's still on the insurance. Slowly working on him to buy his own MX-5

I used it as an excuse.
No, I can't change that UPS battery; I strained my back working on my car on Sunday and can barely bend down. I can't even get under there let alone drag a 50kg battery.
So some other poor sod had to do it. The downside is my back really is bloody sore, but the smashed up old air guide is out of the front bumper now and in a couple of days I might be up to fitting the new one.

I really got to start my own topic ... anyway since saturday, laid some silent coat down on the floor panels and reinstalled carpet and seats. Installed a trackdog racing thermal blanket on the exhaust header. Its said to be an easy job, it’s not! And I cut my fingers all over, actually had to wipe the blood off the heat shield.

Found out my de-cat is the wrong length, new header needs a 440mm! I should have known this was going to happen with the blanked EGR outlet on the manifold! Numpty!

(yesterday evening) I put some silver gaffer-tape on the passanger wing to 'hide' the rust-hole in the usual place behind the bumper might fit the new passanger wing (that was supplied with the car a year ago last march), obvoiusly the wing also needs fitting but.......... nothing else to report... Rich.

Took my son out for a lesson with L plates! Surprisingly cheap to insure provisional driver Ludicrously expensive once he passes his test!🤣

I spent the day fitting the osf wing, front bumper, airguide and new undertray, It actually looks like a car now not a pile of bits. I started it up for the first time in a couple of months. I love the sound of ITBs !!!!!

Removed the cylinder head, cleaned head and block, checked it’s flat, it is less than 0015” distortion. Bloody heavy!

Glorious carbon fibre! New boot lid. Currently test fitted. It's not perfect. Need to get it off to a body shop to be properly clear coated, and sprayed black underneath.

I re-fitted the boot carpet, Rear deck carpet, seatbelts and interior rear trim, also re-fitted the Leather Nardi Steering wheel. And bought some bits from Moss while the sale is on.
