i think the response to my comment was overly defensive.
I did not even directly say any thing about woman being the worst at maintaining their cars.
I said i wish ..people.. would maintain their cars and that my girlfriend bought a car off another girl and it had no oil..
And i am shocked to think that people may see me as a ..sexist.. from this remark. I am not a sexist i can assure you that.
The hasty defense suggests to me, that you guys realise that girls are statistically less likely to give a canoe about car maintenance.. as a fact.. And that you want me to realise that its not ALL women that dont care to maintain their cars... like i dont already know that?..
I am insulted to be made out as some guy that thinks all women are canoe at maintaining there cars when i said no such thing..
Lol not really insulted.. its good to talk.

Oops!! Didn't mean to start a sexist debate! I wasn't saying that women in particular don't take care of their cars. It's more that people in general are idiots and don't take care of their cars. So saying "one lady owner" means nothing to me. Just like saying "One male owner" doesn't.
"One careful/passionate/etc/etc owner" regardless of gender, might actually mean something.

"I am not sexist but when gf bought said car from another girl it all went wrong."
In what world is that not saying that a woman would typically be the gender one might buy a car from, and expect it to have issues relating to maintenance?
I'm not going to go on the explain how the rest of your comments come across because I'm clearly going to get precisely nowhere.
Change of subject due I think.

Fact is Most Women are generally less likely to maintain their cars. I stand by that opinion. The same as most men are not generally likely to put their dirty washing in the wash basket or put the toilet seat down or be able to endure the same level of pain as women during child birth.. Evidently a world of political correctness gone mad.

Ok. So you want to carry this on. Fine.
At what point have I specifically said you, jackyboy, are a sexist man?
Nowhere. Go look. I dare you.
What I have said, however, is that I believe that your opinion, be it what you believe and standby or otherwise, is outdated.
While we're addressing gender stereotypes, James always leaves the toilet seat down (no I haven't asked him to... I couldn't care less in what position he leaves it as long as it's still attached to the loo...) and I hardly ever put my clothes in the dirty laundry basket. PLUS I'm a woman who can maintain her own car. How progressive are we?!?!? Any comments?

Actually the worst maintained cars I've seen after many years in the motor trade are macho blokes who don't have a clue and ask the internet on what or how to do.

Not with any bad intention. its good to talk You havent said that, nor have i accused you THIS IS NOT SLAMBER!. just defending myself against those out there that may think i am. Its not outdated, i know what you mean though..i believe in equality etc.. its not like i have said women should stay at home and cook and clean yadda yadda.. i have this kind of discussion alot with my sister who is a lesbian and a full on feminist. it usually ends up in a philosophical debate. James is then clearly a gentlemen. Which makes me think even a gentlemen could be deemed as a sexist? will there come a day that holding a door open for a lady will be patronising?.. Its swings and roundabouts at the end of the day.. i respect your opinion nonetheless. its good to talk. agree to disagree.? lol
