We're booked on in the orange peril, anyone else going? If you see this, come and say hello.

Another good day today - and plenty of laps with no car problems. Was good to get to grips with the Eastern circuit properly courtesy of a session with Rodders - and a nice quick ride in his Jag too! Was very good to meet you Mondayo and that your car was going well!
Spent a lot of time either out on track or playing with cars (guy in our group in the blue fiesta was on his first day and playing with setup, and the 106 was having a shakedown ready for the rallycross tomorrow).
As a result didn't get much chance to wander round and chat more, but I certainly spotted a few cars I've seen around on the forums. Yours looked to be going well superdan!
I have got loads of GoPro footage that I will sift through and upload some bits soon!

Ah, I hadn't checked this in the run up to the weekend and so didn't think any members were going. You should have come over and said hello.
Car was good, third time at Blyton this year. We really enjoyed the Eastern circuit in the morning then full in the afternoon. I said to one of the guys from MOT I would actually consider doing it like that a selling point and I'd book more with them than Javelin if they did that every time (maybe they do?) .
Cars getting out away for winter now :-(:-(:-(

Despite a foggy start it was a thoroughly enjoyable one as ever Saturday, courtesy of the MoT team. I was there with some colleagues (with a westfield, fiesta, S2000 and a 106 rallycross car) and a good time was had by all. It was also good to see a lot of very nice 5's out - with a number of cars that I've spotted on here. Apologies for not coming and saying hello superdan - we were a bit preoccupied with playing with our cars and getting in plenty of laps!
I enjoyed the changing layout format too - i had previously not gelled with the Eastern layout, failing to get myself into a flow, especially around curva grande and into the wiggler. An instruction session with Mr Roddison soon sorted that, and had me feeling much more comfortable about where the line should be - even if I wasn't hitting it quite 100%! I then had a bit of a treat as Paul took me for a quick spin in his new toy, the F-type, which I was very impressed with. I was expecting it to be quick on the straights, but was surprised by how powerful and consistent the brakes and cornering were (no doubt helped by the skilled pilot!) - a very nice machine!
In the afternoon, I really managed to spend plenty of time on track, and found that my changed setup (I normally would run 20F/18R clicks on the meisters, but ran 20 all round), was feeling good - and later in the day I was also able to spot that I was braking much too much heading into Bishops, which meant that I could gain at least 10mph through the corner while still remaining very stable.
I have been playing some more with data-logging using an old mobile and racechrono, which I have then been overlaying onto my gopro footage in race render - which I think is a useful way to take a critical look at how I am driving (even better when my OBD connector has paired with the phone and not fallen out!). Overall I did about 150 miles on circuit on the day, which I think is pretty respectable!
Here are some of my sessions to take a look at - there are a few other cars in there - although being a relatively quiet day, I managed to spend quite a bit of time, lapping on my own and really trying to get things consistent (I figure at least if I can get a rhythm going, I can then work a section at a time to nail more improvements!).
On the Eastern circuit mid-morning
A mid-afternoon session on the outer circuit...
My penultimate session (Mondayo, I think you are in this around 10 mins in)
My final session - where it was getting quiet, but was feeling good, and I managed to improve my speed through bishops here.

Good vids, the first one isn't the Eastern circuit though ;-)
Gearing looks like it's much taller on the NC as I'm well into 4th between The Wiggler and Bishops, don't think the speeds are much different though based on the graphic speedo reading.

Having just bought an NC I can confirm the gearing is a lot longer. Feels a bit too long to me to be honest. If I was tracking one I'd fit the shorter diff from the 5 speed in mine.

Oops - just checked that first video - uploaded the wrong file there, that one was my first session after lunch.
I would agree that the gearing is taller than my NA was, I think mine in particular is a bit longer legged in-gear - I am the 5-speed option pack car with remap/manifold (so a higher rev limit), and am approaching 7Krpm in 3rd before braking for Bishops, whereas having driven a mate's 6-speed car, I think that would also need 4th there, as the 6-speed overall ratios (when taking into account final drive) mean that effectively it just has the extra ratio packed in the same ratio spread as the 5 - so each gear is closer. I think if I was carrying a little more speed out of the wiggler (or I was able to get to my current pace before the map), I would need an upchange well before Bishops, but at the moment, I am just using the full length of 3rd along that straight.
I imagine the 6-speed with a 5-speed diff would probably be quite frantic, but accelerate well - you would be changing gear a lot though!
