So I have a nb 2.5, took my door cards to asses the situation with my front door speakers and I only had one... Someone had removed passengers side speaker and not replaced it and I couldn't work out why! But anyway, if you guys have changed door speakers what size can you get in there? And do i need to fabricate something to keep the speaker in or not? The standard speaker came with some plastic mounting thing, but obviously I only have one cuz I only have one bloody speaker!
Any help would be much appreciated!

Pretty sure you can fit 8" speakers in there without much faff. Otherwise 5x7 should be a straight swap. 6.5" components are probably easier and cheaper to get hold of, but will need an adaptor (a bit of mdf and some jigsaw time will sort that).

you can buy pretty neat little plastic adapters to fit most size speakers to door cards. I put some used halfords 6.5 in mine - They are ok but i hardly ever have the stereo on!!

I probably have my original Mk2.5 speakers in the garage somewhere which you can have for nothing but they aren't very good. You would be much better off fitting some 8" speakers. Even cheap ones will be a big improvement.
