When we got our trackday car it came with 3 sets of 14" wheels. We've since put 15's on and plan to keep one set of 14's for wets but can't decide on which ones. Any help in identifying the following wheels and any comment on quality or value would be much appreciated. These ones are Sparco    Many thanks |

The BRs look quite standard probably look nicest on a 5, I prefer the Sparco!!

BRs are Black Racing, a now defunct second tier Japanese wheel maker. Quality-wise, I don't think they are much worse compared to Wats, but in terms of value they usually go considerably cheaper.
The middle one is a mystery. Spoke shape kind of reminds Volk CE28N, but it certainly isn't and is different enough to bet not considered a replica either. Any marking on the back?

The middle wheel has a stamp saying AS1638, which is an Australian quality mark, bit like our CE.
'performance' is also a Australian wheel manufacturer, but whether this is one I'm not sure?

Thanks for the replies. I think we'll keep the Sparco ones as it's a brand I associate with motorsport and I like the look. They've been DIY refurbished and look decent too.
Will stick the others on Gumtree and or eBay and see what happens. Looks like I'm not about to undersell some rare classics or anything.

I like the look of the black racing ones, how much for those? Sorry just seen this, I'll be working on the car tomorrow night so will get some pictures, unfortunately a previous previous owner made a right hash of painting them with like a crackle black. The previous owner to me stripped 3 of the 4 back with nitromors but there's still one to do. Basically they are straight but need completely refinishing. They can be in the Leeds or Howden area if you wanted to have a look? I won't want to post them I'm afraid. |
