Yeah that what I did, got everything set up at home. Copied over existing set up visited Nick, was running Windows 7 I think at the time with DOS Box. There are issues with some of the cables though, also depends on what age the ECU is, Motec have serial numbers on their site if I remember. I'll have a look at the serial number. Where abouts are you based chap? Would you mind if we tried to plug into it with your setup if you're not too far away? That would have been possible a few weeks back as I used the car as a run around through the week when I'm down south. However I drove it home about a month ago to Wick (KW1 4DL) so I'm about as far away as it can get, sorry.

Rather than sourcing my own setup and going to Skuzzle, I'm tempted to find a Motec mapper local to me. Thoughts on doing this guys?

Nick mapped my one over a couple of hours and it's never given me any issues. i used an old EBook laptop and my Sony Vaio to connect and both worked no issues. I had to set com port to 1, installed DosBox and ran the free Motec software. Connected using this lead www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-to-RS232-Serial-Adapter-Cable-VGA-DB9-9Pin-Male-PC-Mobile-Phone-Win-XP-/201043977892?hash=item2ecf27a6a4. Easy peasy mate.

Rasc - A failed attempt today. Can't get the software to recognize the ECU. What I've done; downloaded dosbox downloaded software for m4 assigned COM port 1 to the exact same serial adaptor you linked run m4 software in dosbox changed m4 software from (auto) to com port 1 And thennnnnnn.... nothing! I plug the adaptor in, turn on the ignition, and get the exact screen below. The strangest thing is with the ignition on, my cursor goes absolutely nuts around my screen.... any ideas? It's a windows 10 64bit laptop if it makes a difference.

Sorry mate, just noticed this as I don't come here very often. It's been a while since I've connected up, but have you actually tried with the engine running? I will try and connect mine today and see.
