Hi all, Thought I’d do a little write up on my project. This years work is nearly done and with a wedding to pay for funds for the next part are on hold. 95% of the work has been done by Ant (Anton on here) at C.A.E Autos, he’s gone above and beyond on this and I highly recommend him (Sorry/not sorry for the plug). Here’s what I’ve been up to so far. I picked the car up for a tidy price from a guy from the nutz forum back in May, was solid with very little work needed. It’s a basic 1990 115BHP long nosed crank Eunos roadster, standard stuff like electric windows and power steering. It did also have aircon originally, but the compressor has been removed at some point (but not the aircon rad strangely) in white with a tan hood. It still has the factory MOMO steering wheel (it is a bit worn) and the factory mats. It also has Monza uprated shocks fitted before it was imported. It had a 169,000KMs (about 105k miles) and a long MOT. It was basically the perfect car to start a project with, sod all rust and very few modifications, pretty much a blank canvas. I wasn’t a fan of the tan and white combo so I swapped the hood, just as well I did as there was no rain rail (Who does that??) I also cleaned up the ducktail as best as I could and removed the hefty self tappers and riveted it on as a temp fix. The car had a full service including cambelt etc, fitted an LSD as the VLSD wasn’t locking, replaced the shifter boots and then we refurbed the wheels.

This added a new level to the project, ideas were bounced around and we decided wide arches were a good idea. Parts were sourced and added whilst we waited to get it in the workshop. The car was running on original shocks with lowering springs, managed to get a set of TA techniks (I know their canoe but the ride is much better than it was and they will be replaced with something better at a later date). Big shout out to the guys at Total 5’s for this, went there to buy them and have a brew and ended up fitting them there as well. I also took advantage of silly summer pricing on hard tops and picked one up.

Whilst Ant was flexing his fabrication muscles I began the spoiler blend, rivets removed, edges sanded and filler added... Ant also go to grips with the bodged sill repair. W knocked the ancient inch thick filler out and cut out the rust. Here's the remains of the damaged rotted sill. And the new plate. And a lot less filler than the previous "Repair"

I'd had a few issues with clearance so Ant got the ball rolling with the exhaust changes... Also opted for a side exit, just because race car... And a final shot of it trimmed and sitting pretty. Whilst this was going on we also set about the reflector blank. Firstly the were filled with fibre glass. Which was then sanded back. And then filled

We were finally getting the car prepped and ready for primer. Masking done, panels hung, much panel wiping and we were ready for primer. And we finally got sight of the blended wide arches. And my blended ducktail What reflectors??

With the car masked and ready to go were finally ready to get the new paint on. I wanted to keep the car fairly original so opted for crystal white.
