Apparently there is next to no car content in this weeks but a fun episode in which they take on the worlds special forces in some way.

The ridiculous episodes are the best, the 'proper' car content is generally Jeremy going sideways and that gets old fast.
The American is going to get Canoeing annoying though.

Well I enjoyed this weeks.
True, not a huge amount of car content although the Aston Vulcan test was cool. Disappointed they are insisting on killing celebs still, but only one this time. That is already old.
I think having my eyes wide open that this is an entertainment show where those three Canoe around rather than an actual car show is important.

Yeah I agree with Rikk - you do have to bear in mind that this is no longer Top Gear, but more the "Jeremy, Richard and James Show". When you watch it in that context then it's a laugh. The content about cars is more just a common thread to tie the rest of the stuff together.
I have a feeling that as it develops more then it will pull even further away from it's old Top Gear roots. At the moment you can still clearly see the evolution, but I think the more they leave it behind, the better.

I don't mind the celebs dying, it's not the worlds best joke but its better than interviewing them sometimes, as the reasonably priced car would be the bit I'd fast forward though.
I didn't like it as much as episode 1, the lack of cars was a bit too much, as in the whole sas section was literally nothing at all to do with cars and the audi was there as a token gesture. The Vulcan was good but the rubbish track wasted the chance to show it off.
Overall its what I wanted it to be though, and as these early episodes blend in with ones to come to become a complete series the show will be better than the sum of its parts.

Really enjoyed this week's.
Loving the banter on the radios. Can't wait for my third mx5 based 'Grand Tour' next year.

This weeks was the best one to date. No home track action which I like as I don't like the new track or pro driver, just doing a roadtrip in some nice cars with the usual bants between the three.
I take it everyone else has noticed that when they show the silhouettes for conversation corner, Clarkson is wearing high heels...?

Haha, yeah I did spot the high heels I also enjoyed this week's the most so far, but I am struggling a bit with how scripted it all is though. For me, the funniest moments on Top Gear were the bits where they were just dicking around and laughing at eachother, and there hasn't been very much of that on GT, all the funny bits have clearly been planned out in advance (for example when Jeremy and James are trying to sneak away from the hotel early in the morning and then Richard just "happens" to come jogging round the corner at that exact moment). It's almost more like a sitcom, and the problem is none of them are particularly good actors.

I feel they have regressed a bit to a couple of series before they left TG, overly scripted and too try hard. Maybe I am just getting old a a little boring but to me its not brilliant, this weeks was okay, the first episode was also okay, I thought the second episode was a load of rubbish though.
I appreciate its not a car show and more of an entertainment thing these days, that said the entertainment should revolve around cars, road trips etc. when they stray from that path I just feel they end up highlighting the fact stated earlier in the thread- They are journalists, not comedians.
I was a big fan of the last couple of series of Top Gear, and I actually quite like the re-boot even with Evans; that said I think now he is not there it has the potential to be a really good car show, hopefully Harris gets more air time.
