So this starts tomorrow. As an Amazon prime subscriber I'm looking forward to it, especially as I thought the revamped top gear was dire. Fingers crossed they have done a good job with their HUGE budget...

Snap although I quite liked some of the revamped TG. I think without Chris "Shout Alot" Evans S2 could be very good.

I think the new top gear was better than the old for car stuff! And i did not mind Chris Evans atall..
I am dubious about the grand tour. The second episode is hardly featuring any cars and the first episode is another holy trinity test which i have seen done really well already in old top gear and more so Chris Harris on cars.
I am not a amazon prime subscriber. I have a amazon gift card of 25 pounds, if that cant pay for it then i wont bother watching until its free on you tube or something.

Definitely going to watch the first episode to evaluate. I hadn't watched TG for ages before the plug got pulled because I was fed up of those 3, but I'm willing to give Grand Tour a try.
Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire went to the filming of episode 1 and said many good things about it on his podcast.

I really enjoyed it. I've deffinatley missed those 3. At times it was a bit cringey, but in the whole it was interesting, funny and a good way to spend an hour of my time. The new track looks cool too! I am looking forward to next week.

Was OK. A bit too much ego seeping in which is worrying.

First show over the top syndrome type thing hopefully. Overall I enjoyed it, but go a little bored after the 98th slow mo drift shot.

I watched. It was alright, will be nicer when they aren't all about showing off the hypercars. I did here the top gear theme in my head when the credits started to roll

I watched it earlier.
Have to admit, for the most part I really enjoyed it. I'm intrigued to see what they will end up doing with the celebs, hope they make more out of that in the next episode.

It was enjoyable without being spectacular
The three guys have such a good rapport and it has been very much missed. Definitely going to watch them all

I really liked it too. I liked how it was a progression from their old show without being the same, yet felt at home almost straight out of the gate. Killing all the celebs I though was funny, intro was way over the top but set a tone, all good fun.
Mike Skinner is a good call for driver, I've seen him drive at Goodwood and he is devastating fast, but I didn't like the whole 'euro cars suck' attitude be brought to it.
Didn't like the new track at all. They've got a nice timed run out of it but theres nowhere else to go. Every review of a car done at the track will only ever have 2 filmed shots - the straight and the drift corner. With a section of track they use twice there wont be any racing on there, and if they did it would be all over by the single car width section around the house.
Good start though, I'll keep watching for sure.

I definitely enjoyed it, but mainly just for the banter.
It felt like they were keeping it as close to the Top Gear feel as possible without getting sued, which I suppose is to be expected for a car show with three ex-top-gear presenters as well as an ex-top-gear producer.
Personally I found the 'dead celeb' thing pretty cringe-worthy. It was funny at first with the guy jumping out of the plane but I reckon they should have just left it at that; the other two just felt like they were labouring the joke a bit too much. And I wasn't quite sure what the joke was supposed to be? Was it a sly dig at the star-in-a-reasonably-priced-car bit being boring on Top Gear?
I'll definitely keep watching though.

That's the stuff that lets it down a bit, and it was the same on (old) Top Gear too. They're not really comedians, they're journalists playing at being comedians and sometimes it shows. As you say, they should have left it with Jeremy Renner splatted on the desert floor and just deadpanned that they were scratching the item. The 'fight' with the audience was another such bit that needed to be less laboured.

It's just a comedy show, not a car show. Funny like old top gear, but no serious content. The guys are great together, they could present a show on the most boring topic and make it funny.
I wouldn't pay for prime just to watch it, though.

Apparently this weeks is worse than a Chris Evans TG episode.
